POst-conflict Reconciliation of Environment and Livelihoods in Boyacá Páramo (hereafter POR EL Páramo) is a UK-Colombian research project investigating the Colombian Páramo ecosystem. Our website address is: https://porelparamo.org

What personal information do we collect?
Personal information is information that can potentially identify you as a specific individual. It includes your name, company name, company position, address, telephone number, email address, IP address and location.
POR EL Páramo may require use of personal information to gain access to data, services, event access or other features. This information will be used to authenticate users, provide support and deliver services.
Like most other website, POR EL Páramo uses ‘cookies’ to optimize user experience. Cookies are files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information. When you visit our websites, we may collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology.

We, and our third-party tracking-utility partner, gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes the internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), and clickstream data. We do this to improve our services, marketing, analytics, or site functionality, and to authenticate users.
Keeping your information secure
Under General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), we are a Data Controller of your information. It is therefore our responsibility to keep personal information you submit to us secure. We take our responsibility very seriously and have measures in place to protect your data.
We use GDPR-compliant servers with password protected access to specific users.
If any of your information is transferred out of the European Economic Area by us or our service providers, we ensure it is done so with the relevant protection required by law.
How long we retain your data
We retain and use your information only to the extent necessary to comply with our legal or contractual obligations.
For users that register on our website (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Sharing of your information
We will never exchange, sell or rent your personal information to another person or organisation and will only use your data in line with the purpose agreed upon when shared.
Information may be shared with relevant third-parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and marketing assistance.
With your consent, or with an opportunity for you to withdraw consent, we may share your information with third parties for marketing purposes, as permitted by law.
Interactions with Other Users
If you interact with other users of the site, those users may see your name, profile photo, and descriptions of your activity, including sending invitations to other users, chatting with other users, liking posts, following blogs.
There are times when we collect data from under 18s, for example for the delivery of educational courses or as part of the administration of competitions and awards.
The personal information that we collect in these circumstances is held securely and only used in relation to the purpose for which it was collected. Where such information may be made public, consent from parents/guardians will be confirmed prior to any publication. Consent can be withdrawn at any time where possible.

POR EL Páramo would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. These include:
The right to access – You have the right to request POR EL Páramo for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that POR EL Páramo correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request POR EL Páramo to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that POR EL Páramo erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that POR EL Páramo restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to POR EL Páramo’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to data portability – You have the right to request that POR EL Páramo transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
